New from Walt Disney Records - The Disney Classics Box Set Available November 12

*disclosure:  I participated in this campaign as a member of One2One Network and am eligible for a prize drawing.  All opinions stated in the post are my own.

Are you a Disney fan like me?  Don't you just love all things Disney?  How many times have you been to Disney?  I have only visited Disney twice and want to go back in the worse way.  We are working on it for next year (I hope so) but until then I can feel like I'm in Disney by listening to some great Disney classics.  I had the opportunity to listen to a portion of the Disney Classics Box Set which will be available for purchase November 12th.  I enjoyed a 45 minute sample of the Disney music that brings me back to great memories in Disney.  The Disney Classics Box Set is a four volume set featuring 94 original recordings from Disney and Disney Pixar movies, television, and theme parks celebrating over 85 years of Disney musical magic.

With songs from the Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Pirate's Of The Caribbean, and many more listening to them brings me back to our time in Disney and the great fun memories we had there.  The music puts me in a much better state of mind, to a happy place.  Below are a few pictures from our last Disney World trip.  The music is fun, exciting, and upbeat just like the atmosphere of Disney what I so miss!

The Disney Classics Box Set will be available November 12, 2013 but you can  pre-order now.  As a special bonus for box set purchasers, it includes a new medley of Disney hits by YouTube acapella sensations Peter Hollens and Alex G.  Peter and Alex create fully orchestrated songs using only the sounds of their voices.

Court Yard Hounds, "Amelita" ~Review

**disclosure: I participated in this campaign for One2One Network. I received a free copy of the CD to facilitate my review. By posting, I am eligible for incentives. All opinions stated are my own.

Do you remember the Dixie Chicks? After a few years away from the limelight and the Dixie Chicks, the two sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, were ready to get back into the studio.  They  joined together in 2009 to form the county music and folk duo Court Yard Hounds and debut their first album in 2010.  I had the opportunity of listening to the newly released second album, Amelita.   This album was released on July 16, 2013.

Containing 11 new tracks, Robison and Maguire took a different approach with Amelita than their debut album in 2010. This album contains a new angle, which is due in part to time passed since Robison’s divorce.

I’ve been freed of all of those time-heals-everything kind of things,” says Robison. “Now, I’ve opened up to other ideas and ways of looking at life and the world. I think it’s not only a more hopeful album, but it’s more… well fun."

  1. Sunshine
  2. Amelita
  3. The World Smiles
  4. Aimless Upward
  5. Guy Like You
  6. Rock All Night
  7. Phoebe
  8. Divided
  9. Gets You Down
  10. Watch Your Step
  11. The Road You Take

The Court Yard Hounds’ new album is a clear statement of who the girls are as artists, illustrating their sound as a band, with songs that are personal, yet familiar and widely relatable.

My opinion:

I really enjoyed listening to these tracks.  It was upbeat, relaxing, and both their voices were amazing.  I loved the Dixie Chicks so I knew I would love this sound as well.  I enjoyed hearing the instruments, the melody.  All the songs were wonderful, but I love the sound and the lyrics to "Aimless Upward"

  "My eyes are wide
Aimless upward I will rise and
I'll be fine to take my time"
