Premiere of "Working Class" on CMT January 28th

I had the opportunity to view an episode of the new sitcom, "Working Class" which will premiere January 28th at 8pm. The show stars Melissa Peterman (Carli), and Ed Asner (Hank). Melissa Peterman played the role of Barbara Jean in the comedy series "Reba", and Ed Asner, the Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor is best known as Lou Grant in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show".

The new 12 episode, multi-camera series follows Carli Mitchell
(Melissa Peterman), a single mom from a rough and tumble
background, trying to give her three kids a better life by moving them
to an upscale suburb. She quickly finds that making the transition to
“the good life” is harder than she thought. She's unwittingly
befriended by her cranky neighbor, Hank (Ed Asner), her only
“career” prospect is a glorified deli job at the local grocery store, and
the man she falls for not only already has a girlfriend – but he’s also
her boss, Rob (Patrick Fabian). With her ladies-man brother, Nick
(Steve Kazee), to help her out (when he’s not acting like one of the
kids himself), Carli faces the challenges of parenting, dating, and
making friends in her new community by doing more with less,
staying true to herself and approaching each day with a touch of
working class.

My thoughts of the show were very positive. The episode I viewed was "The Buddy System", where a high school "flame" visits, and tries to make due on a pact they made 20 years ago. The show was very entertaining and delightful to watch. I look forward to watching the premiere January 28th at 8pm ET and so should you!!!

The show will also feature multiple guest stars throughout the season. Look for Reba in February. For more information on the show, to get your own sneek peak and meet the cast visit CMT .

OWN: the new Oprah Winfrey Network

Photo Courtesy of SheSpeaks.com and OWN Network

I was invited to get a sneak peak at the New Oprah Winfrey Network OWN by way of a SheSpeaks campaign. OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network is a multi-platform media company designed to entertain, inform and inspire people to live their best lives. OWN has already made it's way into approximately 80 million homes January 1, 2011 on the current Discovery Health Channel. OWN programming includes original series and specials, all focused on entertaining, informing and inspiring people to live their best lives.

I had the opportunity to view "Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star" , Series Premiere Friday, January 7th 9/8c. Ten contestants compete to be the one to win their own talk show on the OWN Network. I'm already hooked! As I was watching, it reminded me of being similiar to The Apprentice, or Hell's Kitchen. The contestants in this episode broke up into two teams to make up and host a talk show segment which included guest host, Dr. Phil. In the end one person gets elimated by show hosts Carson Daly and Nancy O'Dell, along with Dr. Phil. Of course, they didn't let me see the ending so I'll be definitely tuning in on January 7 to see who will be the first to be eliminated.
